I can't believe I'm going to make a post about a dude sniffing socks, but I did say I'd try and post something this week and it was either this or just send you and e-mail so... *shugs*
I watched the second disc of Darker than Black. *shakes head* Did they seriously have that body snatching dude carry around his old dirty sock to smell? Really? LOL!!! And then they tried to have all this serious dramatic reasoning behind it! He was smelling a sock. At first I thought he was smelling panties, so I guess a sock was better than that....
I both loved and hated those two episodes. I liked the stinky smoking detective, he cracked me up, and I liked learning more about the cat, but the perfume plot and the fanservicey widow were lame.
I was sad that Havoc got killed after only two episodes. :-( I think it would have been interesting to keep her around and watch her try and fight off her darker instincts after regaining her powers.
The episodes with the police chick and her mafia princess friend were so-so. I didn't like the elf eared body guards voice. It didn't fit him at all.
Hei was definitely hot. I remember the first time I saw him, in some magazine, I think I actually said out loud something like "Hello lover....." and he just keeps getting hotter every time I see him. His voice is perfect too. When he was wearing that one outfit with the cargo pants and the tight long sleeved shirt with the holsters.... *swoon* Don't even get me started on the coat.
Am I a freak for thinking he's just as hot with his mask on?
On a completely random side note, when I went to the pet store yesterday the cashier girl had her dog running around the store (not really running, more like lounging). A corgi name Ein! I was tempted to ask her if she named him from Bebop but in the end decided I really didn't care enough to ask.....
Well, you know if you'd asked the girl if it was a Bebop reference, she probably would have gotten all nerdy on you and started rambling crazily and frantically. That's the thing about most anime fans... You don't really want to take the risk. Remember I told you about those girls on the train in Cali, and one had anime buttons on her bag? Part of me wanted to say something, but based on her blue hair and overall "haven't bathed in a week" appearance, I decided not to say anything. lol! Then there was the other girl in the calendar shop that one time where all I did was pick up a Fruits Basket Calendar, and she went all crazy on me and totally spoiled me??.... You did the right thing. lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad you're not liking some of the DtB episodes! I really enjoyed the mafia/police girl episodes. And I don't remember what the bodyguard's voice sounded like, so I must have thought it was fine.
I think I somewhat echo your sentiments about the widow/perfume episodes. They were just OK. Still good to me, but not great. And yah, I loved learning more about Mao. Especially because the fact that there was a talking cat in the series was a bit odd to me. I'm glad they explained it. I want to know what he looked like as a human. I like to imagine he was an Aizen type (before the stupid hairstyle change).
Dude. Hei is hotter with the mask ON sometimes! lol!! And THE COAT. *swoons* I can't even go there right now. You know how I am about hot men in hot coats. He totally gets hotter and hotter as the series goes on. It's really weird how this happens... (How many times did I say "hot" or some variation of in this paragraph?? lol!!)
Oh, and random side note, check out this Hello Kitty house in Shanghai!

So cute!
*blink* Part of me thinks it's cute and the other part is horrified.....
ReplyDeleteI was totally wondering what human Mao looked like too! Actually I was more wondering if he was hot, but same difference. <.< I bet he was hot. I keep envisioning some version of Kakashi! lol! Not sure where that came from.... And its not that I'm not liking the episodes, I think I've liked every one of them so far (Hei's presence insures that), some are just better than others.
ReplyDeleteI think I remember you telling me about that chick spoiling FB for you! And you're absolutely right, I was in no mood for random Bebop rambling with the pet shop girl (I had a nasty blister from my new sandals and was very angry about it). I remember buying a Naruto thing at Hot Topic before and having the cashier get all pretentious, "Don't you just hate the english voices?" At that time I'd only seen the anime so I was annoyed by that.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of FB, you're going to have to do some super speed reading if you're planning on rereading the series in it's entirety before you leave for Japan. Or I guess you could take them with you.... Or have someone ship them to you....
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's totally not going to happen. lol! In order for that to happen, I'd actually have to buy the first five volumes, AAAAND the last eight or so that I'm missing, and of all the things I need to buy before I leave, this ranks very, very, very low on the priorities list. And having them shipped isn't really that deep either. I think the only things I'm going to bug you to ship to me are Nana volumes and maybe Black Bird. lol!! *is totally obsessed with that manga right now*
ReplyDeleteUUUGGGHHHHH...... I CAN'T WAIT TO QUIT THIS EFFING JOB!!! I am SO BUSY all of a sudden. I hate it. lol!! I am working on five press releases, and one of our practice areas TOTALLY SCREWED UP the survey methodology for two studies we already released (and this is very, very, very bad and really makes me question the credibility of our research). So in addition to the five current press releases I'm already juggling, now I have to go back and fix/edit two more releases because these idiots screwed up big time. I wasn't really counting down the days before, but I totally am now.
22 Working Days to go!!!!*
*unless they lay me off, which, at first, I wasn't too keen on the idea of, but now I wouldn't be that upset about it.
I just had this great image of your boss having a meeting about lay-offs and you're in the back with your hand in the air bouncing around ,"Me! Pick me!" LOL! It sounds like a total mess (and mind numbingly boring on top of it). 22 days though! That's not that long! You think they're trying to milk every bit of work out of you that they can before you go?
ReplyDeleteHa!! That WOULD be me. And you're right. It's not that long at all. It's not even a month... It's not even the length of February, which is the shortest month of the year!!... *trying to encourage self* It sure seems like they're working me to the bone dude. I keep telling myself I shouldn't complain outloud like I do, because at least I'm leaving. The other girls still have to work here, AAANNNDD it'll be WAY WORSE once I'm gone as far as the workload... I'm a total douche for complaining as much as I do. lol!!
ReplyDeleteThat's the best part though! You can pretty much complain consequence free! What are they going to do? Fire you? Give you a stern talking too *shakes finger dramatically in an angry fashion*?
ReplyDeleteLOL!! I'm TRYING to be a good employee in my last few weeks here. No dancing on people's desks or setting trash cans on fire... although... that would be a much more entertaining legacy to leave behind...
ReplyDelete<.< You could sh*t on the coats.....
ReplyDeleteoh dear. lol!!!
